Carolin Grabisch
PhD Researcher

Biography
Carolin Grabisch is a PhD researcher at the Adam Smith Business School, supervised by Professor Jillian Gordon and Dr Gemma Milne, with funding from the ESRC through the Scottish Graduate School of Social Science. Her research explores alternative finance for impact-driven deep tech ventures and how approaches such as impact investing, venture philanthropy and blended finance can help science move from the lab to market. Working with Considered Capital, she is looking at how intermediaries connect founders with mission-aligned capital.
Before starting her PhD, Carolin worked in the technology sector, most recently at Amazon Web Services. She also taught as a visiting lecturer at CBS International Business School. She graduated in business administration in Germany before completing her master’s in psychology at the University of St Andrews. Her interests lie at the intersection of science, finance and entrepreneurship, and she is strongly motivated to contribute to research on how new deep tech discoveries can access the funding they need to make a difference in the world.
